The Lottery Process
Gilbert L. Sena Charter High School uses a lottery system to admit our students based on the State of New Mexico procedures for enrollment for charter high schools.
Sena High conducts lottery drawings throughout the year on an “as needed” basis, dependent upon the number of spaces available by grade level. Typically, incoming 9th graders are selected in April, however there is no specific deadline for application submission.
Students who have been admitted to Sena High through the appropriate admission process and remain in attendance through subsequent grades are not required to reapply. Siblings of students who are already admitted and are attending Sena High will be given enrollment preference. Sena High’s enrollment policies prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, gender, national origin, religion, or need for special education services.

Once accepted for enrollment through the lottery If your student is selected through the lottery process, you will be notified by Sena High. An enrollment packet must be picked up within 2 days of notification. Upon completion of the packet we will schedule an interview with you and your child.
