Principal's Message

Spring is upon us!!!  We are heading into the last three months of school and everyone is busy getting ready for the school year to end.  We have many planned activities for March and April so be sure to check out the website for our calendar of events.

March and April will include some important events.  First, our 11th grade students will be taking the SBA Science High School Graduation Competency Exam on March 6-7.  Most of our 11th graders took the SBA Science Prep class in the fall to prepare them.  If you have an 11th grade student please be sure they are present on both of these days and have a good breakfast and rest before testing.

Short Cycle Assessments will be given the week of April 3rd.  Students will be sharing their results from their Fall, Winter & Spring assessment at SLCs.  Their goal is to beat their best score.  Spring Student Led Conferences (SLC) are on April the 12th & 13th.  Students will not have regularly scheduled classes those two days but are required to conduct their SLC at their schedule appointment.  Students will be sharing their Next Step Plans, Progress and work.

Our last PAC meeting of the year will be held on April 19that 5:30pm.  We will be reviewing the 2017-18 school budget and planning for our Community yard Sale in May.

Pre-Registration packets for the 2017-18 school year will be sent home with the students on March 8th and need to be returned no later than March 17th.   The Quality of Education Parent survey was included in your student’s pre-registration packet.  The survey should be returned along with the registration information.    Your feedback on this survey is very helpful to us.  As you know our school strives to continuously improve our programs, processes and most importantly student performance.  We will review all responses and make adjustments where necessary.

This year our Spring Break is March 20th – March 24th.  If your child is not on target this is a great opportunity for them to get caught up.  When we get back there will only be seven weeks of school left for underclassmen and six weeks for Grads.
