  • Sena HS Parents, Student, and Community,
It’s hard to believe this school year is over! Many of our students finished early and began their summer break early. Sixty-eight students signed up for extended summer session in order to finish off their coursework.
Thanks to Sena High staff and senior parents we had thirty-two graduates this year! Nine of our graduates received Career Pathways Cords signifying completion of dual credit, job shadow, GPA and other requirements in the College or Career Pathway criteria. We are very proud of our graduating class of 2014!
We are excited about some physical changes to our school next year. We will be adding modular classrooms and a lunch room to our campus. We will also be doing some changes to the inside of the building. Due to these changes we will have a later start in the fall. The 2014-15 calendar is included in this newsletter.
Registration for the 2014-15 school year will take place on August 14th. We will also be offering 3 different sessions: Session 1, 8-1:20, Session 2, 9:50-3:20, Session 3, 11:30-5:00. Attendance makeup sessions and Intervention classes for HSGA will be on Friday mornings from 10:00-12:00. Students with absences will be required to attend Fridays.
Lastly, I want to thank the state representative that voted to provide Sena HS with $110,000 in Capital Outlay monies. This money will help us continue to support our Sena HS students’ and their success.

    Sincerely,
    Nadine Torres

  • Extended School

Sena Charter High School is pleased to offer a great opportunity for your child to complete their current coursework. Students who do not finish a spring course by May 22nd will receive a failing grade and no credit for that course.  For that reason, we are offering “Extended School”; which begins Tuesday, May 27th and ends on Thursday, June 5th.  Students who qualify will be given the opportunity during Extended School to complete up to two course(s) for credit if they earn a passing grade.  Qualified students who select this option will receive a grade of “I” for the incomplete course(s) on their end of year report card.  To qualify for Extended School year students need to be at 80% or more complete with their classes by May 15th.  Students were given information in Advocacy on Extend School.  If you have any questions please call the school.
